I was impressed with the quality of this set. The left handed drills are indispensable. Fit, finish and materials seem to be high quality. The set is very complete with all frequently used sizes. I have been using them extensively on an old piece of equipment. The drills seem to be able to eat through anything. However, I did chip the tooth on one of them. Even with this set there have been cases when they wouldn't budge some bolts. Not surprising given the age of the equipment I am working on.

These work better than 80 of extractors out there. And for the price point, you will not find better quality, without spending twice as much. The key to extracting screws/bolts is making sure it's center punched as close to center as humanly possible. Even more important on those small screws. If you don't take your time on this step, you won't succed. Just as important is making sure the drill is held as close to perpendicular as humanly possible. If you are trying to use the extractor turning the bolt at a 15 angle from the threads, you will shear the extractor every time. Every pic I see with a sheared extractor, has it going in at an angle. Last tip is to use heat and penetrating oil. If a bolt doesn't budge and you just twist the heck out of it, it will snap. The tradeoff of having "harder" steal is that it doesn't have the best properties to avoid shearing. Gave it 4 stars because the drill bits are Chinese and useless. Extractors are American and well made.

It was the easiest broken headbolt I've ever taken out. The drill bit is sharp and is still sharp and the extractor eased the broken bolt right out of the block. It came backing right out, and I thought, is it coming out or slipping, this is too easy. I soaked it overnight with Blaster and put a Torch to it before unscrewing and more Blaster. Easiest broken bolt ever. I've had about 3 in my lifetime, at 63.

Tried several different brands and Irwin has always worked well for me where other brands failed. Pleasantly surprised to learn this is made in USA!

Hit a turkey at 70mph that snapped off the antenna on my truck. Successfully extracted the base of the antenna using the smallest bit/extractor in this set (11119). Even after soaking the base in PB Blaster, the extractor needed quite a lot of torque. Not sure the china-made set from HF would’ve held upglad I got this one which is supposedly Made in USA

Very nice set. Over the years I have bought and used the cheap ones, and it is nice to finally have a quality set.

Had a set of these at work, worked great. Just be careful when using the smaller items, they break easy. But all is good withset.

Used it to get a broken off spark plug on a Nissan Altima. It was stuck in there good. The bit does show some wear after first use but still useable. It was completely worth cost of whole set to get that plug out without having to take tow in to a shop.I did have to buy a socket to tap adapter set. To use with 3/8 drive socket to get enough torque.

I used this to remove a broken tap in an upper rear shock mount bolt hole. It worked well and reduced the time to remove the tap.

If you have a broken car antenna that you cant get the threads from the old one out of the hole to put the new one I. This will do the trick! You want to use a bit smaller than the diameter of whatever tip-off are drilling into, this case its an antenna so I used the smallest bit included. Into my power drill and remember to use reverse mode or it will NOT cut into the object.. take your time and go slow, you only need to drill down ever so slightly once you switch bits to the extractor, go nice and slow upland it should extract with no issues. Now you can installe our new antenna and keep this reverse drill bit extractor set for the next household problem you face. Would recommend as long as your not doing quite large fasteners. You may have to upgrade to the larger size drill bit set. But for your smaller needs this IS what you want

I accidentally busted off a valve cover bolt in my car engine. It broke off a good quarter-inch into the hole too. Some silicone lubricant, this extractor set, and a bit of patience saved me an expensive trip to the auto shop.Take your time to center the drill bit on the busted bolt; use a center punch if you have one. Step up from smaller to larger bits if you need to and use oil or lube to keep the bit cool. You can keep trying so long as you don't mess up the threads in the hole (unless you're good at tapping holes, in which case you probably already know all this stuff).
