I haven't had much luck with extractors honestly but the drill bits alone make the kit worth it, as it certainly doesn't hurt to have the extractors and the quality of them are great. None have broke and everything has held up very well.

long story short: this drill bit / extractor set absolutely saved the project I had been working on for several weeks now. I had a oil drain plug bolt that had be torqued on so tight that it wouldn't budge no matter what I tried. Originally I had used a cheap china made extractor set and ended up snapping the extractor off inside the bolt I was removing, which left me with little hope. Hacksawed the entire bolt head off and began drilling into the bolt once again with this new drill bit set and got the extractor hammered inside of it. After two go-rounds of this the bolt FINALLY broke loose to my surprise.

I made the mistake of over-torqing some transmission pan bolts and sheared the heads off of 2 of them.Not wanting to skimp on extraction tools, but I also didn't want to spend an exorbitant amount on something that wouldn't, hopefully, get too much use I settled on the 10 piece set. I had debated if it was worth getting a set with left handed drill bits, or just buy a set of extractors and use the right handed bits I already have. If you're in the same situation I'd recommend getting this set that comes with left handed bits and extractors.When I went to drill into the sheared off bolts, after punching the bolt and applying penetrating oil, the bolt shaft began to thread out just with using the drill bit. Both sheared bolts removed without having to use the extractor!So far my use of this set has been very limited, but it accomplished the job I needed it to so I'm very satisfied with it.

A nice quality look and feel but In the time I have owned the kit I have only had a few times I have needed to try and extract a bolt and every time I tried using a tool from this kit it snapped inside the bolt immediately. I ended up just welding another bolt to it to extract the bolt or cutting the part out, unfortunately.

Perfect little set for work or home when you have a broken bolt just make sure you center punch the broken bolt so your drill bit doesnt walk

We've all been there when the screwdriver slips and you chew up those threads a little too much and then you're stuck wondering how to get that sucker out.This set won't get every screw out, but its gotten a lot out for me. You still need a pretty good head on the thing for this to work. If you completely snap off the head this probably ain't going to help you any unless its a fat screw that you can get some grip on what's left of the shaft.I've used some of the bits on probably a dozen screws of different sizes each and the bits are still in good condition with minimal wear so they durability is good also.This is that insurance that you hope you won't need, but if you do need it, you don't want to have to wait to get one of these mid-project.

I use this set when removing broken bolts. It comes with left handed drills and some times just using the drill bit removes broken bolts as drill bits are left handed

I bought this set to remove some broken water pump bolts in a VW Toureg which it was unsuccessful at. But im a mobile mechanic and in the months since I bought the set I've used it multiple times and had great luck with the left handed drill bits. They cut really well and with a little heat and some drilling, broken bolts pretty much spin right out.

The bits continuously snapped off inside autobody steel. So now I'm trying to drill out carbide on top of the bolt stuck inside.

Not sure how to rate this product as I did eventually Snap it off in the spark plug hole. In it's defense, I absolutely hammered down on the torque and broke it but it never did grip that well either. I did have to hammer it in to get it to really bite down but eventually I had to just replace the entire cylinder head.

The two smaller drill bits snapped before I could even drill far enough to use the extractors. Needless to say, a friend brought over his set and was able to help me out with extracting the 2 snapped water pump bolts I bought this kit for.
