I've used these a few dozen times now, mostly on stripped-out Philips head screws with good results. The spiral flutes are deep and sharp compared to some other types, so they bite rather well. The left-hand drill bits really help too, I had a few screws come out with those alone. For best results learn how to use these correctly! I've seen them used wrongly with bad outcomes. Start with a smaller extractor first (you can maybe go bigger after), drill into the head of the screw with the LH bit, lightly tap the extractor into the hole with a hammer till it bites, then turn left with a good tap wrench. BTW, you should have put some good penetrating oil on the screw before doing anything else.

I bought this set to remove a stripped 3/32 set screw that held the bathroom faucet handle in place. It was very easy to use. Simply use the provided drill bit to drill into the set screw. Then gently tap the extractor with a hammer to get a bite into the stripped set screw. Attach the drill to the extractor and screw out the set screw. Stripped screws are no fun but having this extractor set will prevent anxiety the next time I encounter stripped screws.

Works great, so far ! Time will tell how durable that extractor kit is, but I'm more than happy with it, for now !

Did exactly as it should. All my drills in my kit were left handed and the extractors all seemed clean and in good shape. Love the metal container it comes with as well.Used to pull a broken valve cover bolt out of my engine.

I bought this set to have in my toolbox because when you need a reverse drill bit, you need it now! The day came when I needed it and it failed miserably. I had a head bolt break off in a briggs and stratton V twin engine. The bolt was made of surprisingly soft steel. I drilled a pilot hole with a small bit that was sharp worked well. I used the next size up to enlarge the hole and the tip broke off about a 1/2 inch in. Game over. I had a similar set from snap-on tools that served me well for 25 years but over time the bits just wore out from lots of use but I never had a bit break off in all that time. I would return this product but apparently I've had it too long so not an option. I've use Irwin drills and taps in the past and have been pleased. They cost more but the quality was worth it ! So much for buying tools in advance so to be prepared.

Pretty disappointed in this set. The drill bits will snap very easily, the extractor do not dig in well and if by chance one does it will snap once some torque is applied to it.

Worked like a charm. Used a torch to heat up the plug in the head for 5-10 minutes, I'd been soaking it with penetrating oil for a week or so as well. Hammered this in with and extension and used a breaker bar to get it out.

The extractors worked great. They are the only thing that worked as they were supposed to. I bought this to remove a broken exhaust manifold bolt and the drill bits had the most difficult time drilling. Not only that, one of them broke. I ended up using a combination of previously owned drill bits and a larger extractor to make it work for me.

High quality bits. YOU MUST OIL DRILL BITS FREQUENTLY in order to keep them sharp. I dip my drill bits every 10 seconds of drilling. Had to remove a broken fastener in tight spot under the motor. Had to use flexible drill extender cause there was no space to fit in the drill. And with a little bit of patience managed to get that broken bolt out. Saved myself a bunch of money.

I've only used it once to remove a frozen Set Screw, and the Allen Head was rounded out. Took my time, tapped it in gently with a wood block...and it came out with no damage to the extractor. Probably saved twice what the kit cost by doing it myself. The Extractors are made in the U.S., another bonus for me.

Broke removal bit in the drilled hole and broke 2 drill bits trying to get it out. Maybe it was me, but this put me in a worse place.

After shearing off an aluminum screw in the valve cover I bought this kit and just the left hand drill bit was enough to rotate and remove the sheared base.

Worked well to extract a few bolts. Be careful with the bits though, they aren't weak, but they aren't indestructible.

I'm very happy I bought these because man have they come in handy. Good value for the money. Irwin is a nice brand. These seem pretty durable. I'll update if I have any issues but I don't foresee that.

I'm not that handy but it did the job. The big difference in getting it to work for me was increasing the power of the rechargeable drill. The pieces themselves functioned properly.

I had a 3/16 bolt break 1 inch deep inside the ignition on my harley and thought that I would have to haul my bike to a machinist, but I was able to remove the bolt in less than 10 minutes with the reverse bit.
