I used this to remove a broken tap in an upper rear shock mount bolt hole. It worked well and reduced the time to remove the tap.

I accidentally busted off a valve cover bolt in my car engine. It broke off a good quarter-inch into the hole too. Some silicone lubricant, this extractor set, and a bit of patience saved me an expensive trip to the auto shop.Take your time to center the drill bit on the busted bolt; use a center punch if you have one. Step up from smaller to larger bits if you need to and use oil or lube to keep the bit cool. You can keep trying so long as you don't mess up the threads in the hole (unless you're good at tapping holes, in which case you probably already know all this stuff).

I'm someone that tends to work on my own motorcycle and cars as much as I can. As vehicles age, it's not uncommon for screw heads to get stripped and bolts to break. This set has a wide variety of size extractors and the left-hand threaded drill bits make it relatively easy to extract screws and bolts yourself. I've used it a half dozen times already. It's kinda pricey, but good-quality tools tend to cost more. I am satisfied with my purchase.

I bought this set in Jan 23, used it for the first time today 7 Apr 23. Drilled a 3/16th hole in 2 square stock. Drill bit wouldn't cut on the second hole. Checked to see if maybe I burned the tip. Not the case, bit edge rolled. Very cheap metal. No temper at all.

These straight flute extractors can free up a seized fastener without breaking off like the helix flute extractors. I like to keep a set of each in my box ever since a fellow tech showed me how much better these work on broken grease zirks; the helix style extractors just push out on small threads and just make them hold tight. It also helps that you can work a fastener in both directions to break it loose.

Worked perfect to remove a broken spark plug that a spiral extractor would not budge.

Lifesaver. I snapped off a spark plug in my Chevy k1500. Apparently my torque wrench lowest settings was 20lbs and I only needed 10.I tapped the broken plug with 5 and a hammer, then used 1/2” 12 point socket 3/8 drive , on a 1/2 wrench with a 3/8 reduced for the added length. Use some penetrating oil like Pb blaster and once it gets going you should be able to twist out with your hand life saver
