Causes: Food, Food Programs

Mission: To provide food and meals to the homeless and vulnerable in Tucson, AZ.

Results: On 10th year of Growing and Giving. Thousands of people are being fed through direct donation to Casa Maria, Casa San Juan, LendAHand Senior Assistance, Our Place Clubhouse and others. Currently donating between 700-1000 pounds of produce and 170 dozen eggs weekly. As a place where students learn and people can volunteer to help the community, we've grown a few gardeners too!

Target demographics: the hungry in Tucson and provide a place for volunteers and students to help others in the community. Visitors experience growing produce and have a chance to interact with the land, and work with others also helping to address hunger in Tucson.

Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2019, provided over 36,000 pounds of produce and over 106,000 eggs to help feed people in need in our community

Geographic areas served: food production and education, donating 100% of produce to Tucson soup kitchens.

Programs: -donations to Casa Maria soup kitchen, Casa San Juan Soup Kitchen, Our Place Clubhouse, LendAHand Senior Assistance and others-welcoming field trips from schools and other groups to offer chance to develop a complex relationship with the land and naturally-grown food. - An urban farm preserving and using traditional farm land in Tucson-A community resource for growing in the desert- Service Hours for Honor Societies, Community Service, Tucsonans and visitors to help feed people in need in Tucson.
