Used it first time today for frying pork chops. At first I forgot to cover the iron skillet, so splattered all over as usual. But then when I remembered, I wiped up the mess and covered with the splatter guard. I think it should be called Splatter-Proof. I saw NO splatter..could not believe it!. But BE CAREFUL, even though it is much larger than my large iron skillet the very ends of the circle got quite hot. Easy to clean with dish soap in a small round brush scrubber. Before first use I washed in dishwasher. Held up just fine. Very sturdy!
