Mission: JVS empowers individuals from diverse communities to find employment and build careers, and partners with employers to hire, develop, and retain productive workforces.
Target demographics: The majority of people we serve are either unemployed, or are entry-level workers who need career advancement services. JVS clients include welfare recipients, older workers, individuals with disabilities, refugees, immigrants, dislocated workers, and entry-level workers lacking opportunity for upgrade or promotion.

Programs: JVS Boston serves over 21,000 individuals per year in programs that include adult education, occupational skills training, job readiness training, job placement and support, financial literacy and asset development services.
Populations served include refugees and immigrants, dislocated workers, individuals with disabilities, individuals transitioning off public assistance, and other low-income individuals with barriers to employment. The division also assists employer customers in their search for well-qualified job applicants. Volunteer opportunities are available at the JVS downtown office, as well as in Hyde Park and Newton.
