I'm writing this, not as the welder but as the wife of the welder! All I have to say is that my husband loves it and says it makes all the difference. Every time he comes in from a welding project, he exclaims I love my new helmet!. Also, he is quite the critic.

Awesome hood. Super clear and great big viewport. Modes work well. Auto darkening settings. Easy to follow. Went from a 3m hood to this and this hood blows it out of the water. I have sensitive eyes and this hood doesnt bother my eyes at all.

Lens clarity is off the charts. Easily adjustable digital settings and adjustable head gear. Paid $150 less than my Miller digital infinity after adjusting the viewing lens seems larger and clearer. I'm laying beads for over half of my 10 hour days and feel less eye fatigue although there is more adjustability than older Jackson headgear I do tend to get brain squeeze after extra long days. I must admit I do run my hood tight at times in tight spots and when I gotta stand on my head. Chin is more tapered than my Miller and older Jackson hoods. Only noticed for the first 10 minutes. I like the weld/ grind or torch/ grind at the push of a button. 3 minutes to figure it out. Although I usually use a clear face shield to grind unless I'm in a bind just to possibly add a little life to my hood.I can't really comment on lifespan as I've only used it for about 160 hours.

This hood is pretty nice. When they assembled it, they assembled it wrong so I had an issue where when you lifted the hood, it loosened the tension knob on the left side. Frustratingly, the hood would just fall apart when this happened, and Id be left with a pile of parts on the shop floor and an annoying, broken hood with a half attached headgear. The o ring was in the wrong location in the stack (it goes under the knob), but once I fixed it this thing is incredible. No issues at all with it. Buy the polycarbonate inner and outer screens because the inside one scratches when you clean it with anything other than angel souls, and the outer shield eats a lot of spatter if your mig or stick welding. Takes two 2032 batteries that are in an odd location. You cannot turn it off. The upside of this is you wont get arc flashed, but you might eat batteries. Three weeks welding 10 hours a week and im not on low battery yet though. Nice viewing window. Needs a dedicated bag imo. And, not for nothing, it was assembled wrong, but good product. I wish the instructions were written better and more thoroughly.

The lense cover lense that came installed was a bit small. Allowed spatter inside. One year later it doesn't work correctly. I have been wekding over fourty years. Does not work correctly
