The nursing home operation experienced a financial loss due to lower than budgeted medicare days and overall census.

A significant construction project at 200 maple place during the fiscal year provided a second elevator for the building to enhance the safety and convenience for apartment tenants. The $400,000 cost of the project was funded through local bank financing.

cedar view is an assisted living facility that is licensed for 16 beds, although the facility can actually accommodate a total of 12 residents. The facility caters to adult individuals who need assistance with the activities of daily living. The 24-hour staff provides room and board, medication administration, all meals and snacks, laundry services, activities, and professional nursing services as needed. The facility is managed by a licensed practical nurse who is on-site a minimum of 8 hours/day, monday through friday. The operation of cedar view assisted living was ended on march 6,2018 due to declining occupancy and the resulting financial losses. The six remaining residents at the time of closure all admitted to other assisted living facilities in watertown and clark, sd. The building and land are currently listed for sale with a local realtor.
