Pretty easy to get into the 2x4 after drilling holes. They seem extremely sturdy after holding 250 pounds on just one bracket. You definitely need the right tools at home, don't try this with a screwdriver I can see these being used outdoors for something huge but we only use them for kids and adult hanging chairs. I had to install a cross-beam in the attic rafters to get this to work but it was worth it and much easier than trying to install while on a ladder and facing the ceiling. I installed on a 2x4 while it was on the ground, then mounted in the attic.

Instead of putting just eye bolts in the bottom of a board for our swing sets we spent the money on these and it was worth it. They pivot much better so the weight is distributed across a greater surface and the middle swing point actually swivels with the swing instead of staying stationary and causing greater friction on the metal. Super happy with it.

Mounted and installed these for my grandsons swing. Drilled starter holes for the Lag screws and used my cordless drill to tighten them. Works great!!

These are awesome! Have worked great even after 5 years. I use them for swings and saucers that often have over 200 lbs in kids and or adults hanging from them.

No written instructions. Should provide templates. Screws/bolts provided not clear if these are for wood or concrete. Also no size called out. Instructions needed for predrilling holes in wood beam like size

This is heavy duty. We used it to hang up a three person porch swing it's holding strong. It's a heavy set with strong bolts.

These things are excellent. I didn't think they would be this strong, but when I received the package, it weighed about 20 pounds for a 4-pack. They are heavy duty and could probably hold at least a ton. After building my sons' swingset, this is probably the most sturdy part of the whole thing. I highly recommend!

These brackets are heavy duty and swing very smoothly. However if you are going to pre-drill your holes or if you are going to bolt through your beam instead of using the lab bolts you will want to use each individual hinge as your template. The hole pattern is not consistent from bracket to bracket. Unfortunately I predrilled my hole locations in my beam using 1 of 4 hinges. To of the hinges the holes were off by as much as 1/2 a hole diameter! I made it work, but it added a lot of choice words and time to my project.

These were easy to install. I used them in my garage to hang Olympic Rings. They can def hold way more than my weight! I can do anything on my rings and I feel safe and supported. Perfect for what I used them for. I probably didn't need that much as these are really heavy duty but that's ok. Better to have extra support rather than not enough.

Hinges are sturdy and smooth. The carabiners feel cheap. They'll work for now but I have a feeling that if I need to loosen them in a couple years the threads will be galled up and I'll be cutting them off. I'd still buy the hinges again.

We bought two sets of these swing set brackets to hang our 4' porch bench swings. Brackets feel solid and rotate easily and quietly. We've only had them for a few months so far, but I'm happy with the purchase. I will update if I have any problems in the future, but I don't anticipate it.
