Results: In Fiscal Year 2020, JobTrain’s placement and retention rates for its vocational training were high: 91% completed their training program; 81% of these graduates were placed in jobs, and of these 78% had a job one year later and many had been promoted.

Target demographics: Low-income adults, youth, and children from East Palo Alto, east Menlo Park, and Redwood City, CA.

Direct beneficiaries per year: more than 2,500.Of these, 22% were youth; 92% had very or extremely low income. 21% of our career training program students were formerly incarcerated.

Programs: Through JobTrain’s career training, job placement and support services, we help people transform their lives from poverty and unemployment to financial stability and sustainable careers. Career training programs include: Culinary Arts, Laborers Construction Fundamentals, Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aid, & Carpentry Pre-Apprentice (aka Project Build).
