My 35 year old pull-down knife rack finally blew a hinge. New knife racks of comparable quality were price prohibitive, so my search began for replacement hinges. It was surprisingly difficult to find the same style, so I was delighted to find these. They are a good weight, the hinges are strong, and the holes exactly match the existing rack and cabinet holes. It does not come with screws, which is minor.I am delighted to find a high quality replaceable set, and to avoid the expense of an entirely new rack.

Used this for a custom tray to hold a monitor and my phone next to it so I can view my recipies. Works great!

Fantastic! I was planning this project for a while and finally it came to life thanks to these hinges. I love that I don't have to worry about a pile of knifes in our drawer anymore and kids won't be able to reach it. Plus the shelf is truly hidden. It's been two months and it doesn't seem to sag. Recommend the hinges!

Purchased one set of brackets and it held up a 1/2 piece of wood as a shelf, plus the silverware i put it in. I purchased 3 more sets of brackets. One of those sets of brackets was made into a 30in wide shelf, has 3 strong magnets and my cuttlery on it. It stays in a stowed position just fine.the second set of brackets i put with a 1/2 wood shelf about 24 wide. It has 20 spice bottles in it. Not nearly as heavy as the silverware drawer or drop-down knife shelf. It will not stay in a stowed position. It drops down over 1/2in every time you push it up and easily drops out of position on the slightest touch.I've contacted seller and asked if there was anything we could do to adjust the bracket to lock in more. They said the shelf is, specifically designed as a pull down rack hinge made for such things like cookbooks. It is designed to tilt down with any weight put on it at all. They could not offer any fix to the drawer not staying in a full-up stowed position. In the stowed position, the bracket is only held up with two small plastic dimples on each side. I've tried manipulating the bracket so there is more force onto those dimples but that doesn't work.I would say the hinges work well for a shelf no more than 12 wide. Be most importantly be cautious of the weight if you put a front facia piece on it. I had front facia pieces stained to match my cabinets. it was 3/4in white maple. The front weight is what is making it fall down.

Love these! Easy to install and use. Crazy that there are hardly none of these available elsewhere, but I've always wanted a pull down knife tray and now that I made it from scratch, I have one!

These are an absolute pain to install by yourself. Mounting tape helps to hold it in place. One of the hinges is bent but since I already installed it I won't be returning it and will just try to bend it back.

Be careful of these hinges. The springs will not hold up a under cabinet spice drawer. Had to add magnets into my design to hold the drawer up

it works ok but thought it would hold a bit more weight so I can't fit as much on the shelf

A little bit flimsy but works ok, springs are already weakening and it doesn't stay up all the way

These hinges are relatively sturdy and quiet, and do a good job of not sagging, although this may make them a bit more stiff than I'd prefer. They have a good finish on them, although you only see the sides on occasion when the rack is extended. In all, it makes for a great way to store your knives! The down side to these is that because the top flange folds inwards, the screw holes are blocked when in the stowed position, making install a complete pain. If they were folded the other way, you could simply attach the rack you want to mount to the bottom flange, lift it under the cabinet where you want it, and screw the top flange into the cabinet-- simple. But because the flanges point inward, you either have to make a jig to mark and line up the holes, or spend time dry fitting, disassembling, measuring, marking, and re-assembling your rack, hoping you didn't miss a hole. Lining up the two arm to be parallel is important, as any binds or twists make the hinge action pretty poor or wobbly, so this simple design tweak would be a huge improvement.

I used the hinges for an under-counter knife storage tray that I built. The hinges were of good quality, and exactly as specified. I would buy these again for similar projects.

It takes some planning to locate the brackets on the bottom of the cabinet and on the shelf. I did a mock up to develop a template for locating the holes on the cabinet and on the shelf. My cabinets are 24 and the final dimension of the platform is 20.75 x 10. The width of the assembly (since the springs are on the outside) is 22. I used bar earth magnets. The brackets are more costly than desired but function as they should.

These hinges are perfect for making pull down knife racks, which is what I did. It's just unfortunate that they cost what they do.

Exactly what I wanted for my pull-down knife rack. I can make the rest myself and save $$$$s in the process.
