Mission: To Conserve and Enhance Pennsylvania's Elk Country for Future Generations.
Target demographics: Public education about wildlife conservation related to elk, other wildlife, and the environment and by conserving and enhancing elk and wildlife habitat.
Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2020,41,400 students of all ages attended our conservation education programs, we enhanced over 400 acres of elk and wildlife habitat, and hosted over 515,000 visitors at the Elk Country Visitor and Education Center.
Geographic areas served: The Pennsylvania Wilds and the Pennsylvania Elk Range in Northwestern / Northcentral Pennsylvania.
Programs: Operation of the Elk Country Visitor and Education Center, structured in-person conservation education programs, distance learning conservation education programs via Zoom or Skype, weekly scheduled conservation education programs open to the public, and habitat conservation and enhancement projects.
