This is really nice. It's easy to use I don't have to dirty a utensil to slice off some butter. It's inside thiscontainer so that's good. I used to have partially used sticks in the box of butter that got messy. This is much better. Measurements slide is useful.

Liked storage and cutter in one. Like measurements om side. Does not always spring back to cut position.

I was looking for a device that would allow me to dispense small pats of butter (to spread on toast) as well as larger amounts for cooking/frying. Most of the butter dispensers have a fixed wire grid that cuts the bar of butter into uniformly sized pats; or shaved off thin strips which were not really convenient for cooking. Also, many were fairly large, with plungers which extend out of the container (and only become easier to store when the butter bar has largely been used). This device is the same size as the bar of butter, keeps my hands clean, can dispense very thin slices of butter which are easy to spread, or dispense larger pats for frying. It's also dishwasher-safe. I would suggest taking it out of the refrigerator for 5-10 minutes before using it to allow the butter to soften a bit; and I would have preferred a metal to a plastic device (but that's rare these days). All-in-all, this has proved to be the most versatile and useful butter dispenser that I've encountered, and I recommend it highly.

I love the way it makes a nice butter container and it works great for cutting and measuring pats of butter. I am always counting calories and this makes it so much easier. I hope it is sturdy enough to last as long as I do!

This works fine for thick slices, but when slicing 1tbsp or thinner it sometimes doesn't cut completely through the butter so you have to manually remove the thin cutting.

The measurement price don't really seem accurate to the ones on the sticks but it works well to slice nice even pads.

I had one of these back around 2000. I got it at a trade center on clearance. In fact, I bought several and gave to friends as a gift. It lasted for so many years. I'd say probably 15 or so, until the wire that slices the butter broke. It never occurred to me that I could buy another after so many years. Well I am so thrilled to have this handy gadget in my kitchen again. I love things that are multipurpose. It is one of my absolute favorite kitchen must haves. I can't recommend it enough.

Works great.I measured the force it takes to cut the fresh out of the refrigerator butter: about 4 or 5 pounds. In the photo you can see the wire bending under the force.So it works great, you just have to cut cold butter SLOWLY, or it will probably break the wire.If the butter sits out at room temperature for even a few minutes, it cuts much easier.The sliding butter advance mechanism works nicely.It keep the butter sealed up without any mess.

Had an old model worked like a charm broke after many years.

Omg! This thing is the absolute best! It pretty much makes me kinda like the kitchen! Not!!! I hate cooking meals but I do love to bake! I'm telling you, you will love this!!

Simple to load, simple to use, and simple to clean. Very sturdy

It is so easy to use and dispenses exactly as much butter as you need. It does tend to wear out and break because my kids don't take as much care as they should, but it's cheap enough to buy another one. I hope this item never goes away. I have not found anything else that compares.

Does not make thin slices. Hangs up instead of closing. Didn't like it. Hopefully someone at Goodwill does.

I have had 5 of these over the years. It always breaks in the same spot. The plastic tabs that hold the door on with a spring, are too weak. If you allow the door to flip up on its own, the tab will break off and the door will no longer operate properly. Putting your fingers over the door when you release it will keep the door from springing open and breaking the tab off. I wish the company would improve this door tab (hinge) or lessen the power of the spring.With care opening, this is the best butter slicer on the market. Unfortunately, an unknowing user will break the door tab in NORMAL use.
