Mission: Our family , the nelson- davis family, we are a very humbled group of people. We are not ashamed to say that if it wasn't for shelters and soup kitchens and other agencies, we could not have made it through some rough patches in our lives !There were many times when i had to choose between keeping my kids with a roof over their heads , or new coats, gloves , and hats ! These things may seem easily accessible to most , but everybody has fallen , and with the grace of god , found the strength to get back up ! I have always had a dream to somehow give back to my community , disspight my spinal disease , and i've always had my children growing up in programs where they could see and feel the love of helping others ! So starting this year and every year , me , my husband, my 4 kids and 11 grandkids, will be using our talents to give back !We consist of , ( Author, certified chefs , DJ's, African Jembe player, and many more talents ) ! The proceeds will go under christmas trees , to needy families in our county and nearby , at the end of the year ! So thank you for you donations, be it monetary, or physical ! Thank you for helping us warm the world for the winter !
Results: So far , as of March 23,2017 ! We have the website going and have only raised $5.00, but by christmas , our $5000, we pray will be reached ! And we have started a video for the cause, posted up some social media awareness feeds ! Word of mouth is everything and we will be also giving our home for the initial drop off site until we can rent a space for larger donations ! Any help is truly appreciated !
Target demographics: Homeless and low income families , of all ages !
Direct beneficiaries per year: Were new to the fundraiser seen this year , but the help books have been available for the past 3 years online and in your local stores
Geographic areas served: North Carolina
Programs: Help books written for all ages to help with personal and social issues ! In the future we would like to offer grooming and job application skills , to young adults. with transportation to and from interviews, an work ! Helping with proper etiquette. We are also gearing to open up a food truck to help feed the community twice a week free of charge !May go help our goals as we are just stepping out on faith !
