Causes: Education, Homeless & Housing

Mission: LifeWay Network envisions a world in which human trafficking is abolished and every survivor is strong, connected and free. LifeWay Network joins the global movement against human trafficking by providing safe housing for women who have been trafficked and offering education about trafficking to the general public.

Target demographics: women survivors of labor and sex trafficking

Geographic areas served: New York City

Programs: Safe Housing: We provide a welcoming environment where survivors of human trafficking can find safe housing and access to service providers who offer health care, counseling, case management and educational services and by hosting workshops and educational programs to inform the general public about the issues related to human trafficking. The safe housing provides women with a supportive home environment that enables their transition towards independent living, and connects each woman with services from partner social service agencies who provide health care, counseling, legal services and educational opportunities. Supported primarily through contributions from individuals, churches and other organizations. Education: We seek to raise awareness, deepen understanding, and engage others around the issue of human trafficking. We provide human trafficking presentations for school groups, faith communities and professional organizations. We generate greater awareness through networking and participating in conferences on human trafficking topics. Human trafficking’s covert nature is one of the largest obstacles to its eradication. We believe that spreading awareness and informing people about how they can make a difference is key to a future without slavery.
