Good cable, arrived on time. Avoids a USB-C to USB-A dongle when connecting a GPS for update, or an IR transceiver, or other small but older devices, to a modern laptop.A similar cable (but with braided cover) exists for USB-C to USB micro.

I needed a new micro usb to type c cable for my backup drive (since my new MacBook no longer has usb ports). I looked at several, but this seemed to hit all my requirements in size and connectors. Got it a couple of days ago and it works perfectly! Much better than the adaptor I was temporarily using. Plus, as an added bonus, it was under $10! Win all the way around and I am a happy camper!

This is my second go round with Cable Matters. I needed a second, longer mini USB to C cable and upon first use it seems to be as well made as the first, which was durable and effective.

have a Samsung external DVD drive that uses a usb-a to mini usb cable. my laptop only has USB-C ports. with this USB-C to mini USB cable I am now able to use the drive on my laptop.

The mini USB side of my cable looks like it had been crimped too tightly when the cable was made, and so the connector was bent out of shape and was too narrow in the center to plug into the DVD drive. I inserted the end of a pair of scissors into the opening and bent the connector back into more or less the right shape. This worked, but it was very easy to bend the metal, so it is obviously not very sturdy. And the cable itself also seems pretty flimsy. Since it was fairly inexpensive and I do not plan to be plugging and unplugging it very often at all, more or less leaving it stationary where it is now, I suspect it will work ok for my needs. But as others have said, if you need it for mobile use or as a charger that will be plugged and unplugged often, I suggest finding another option.

I have an older external blurry drive with a usb a connection on one end. I tried an adapter but it wasn't secure enough to keep it connected. This cable works flawlessly and seems pretty durable.
