Mission: Labrador Rescuers (LR) is a 100% volunteer-based nonprofit, established in 2004 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome stray, abandoned and unwanted Labrador Retrievers and Lab mixes, including shelter dogs and dogs relinquished by their owners because of age, health, financial or other reasons. LR is known for rescuing senior dogs and dogs who have medical, surgical and other special needs that shelters, other rescues or owners are unable or unwilling to address. LR provides for those needs with the goal of making it possible for each dog to be adopted into a loving forever home.

Results: Labrador Rescuers has saved over 5,300 dogs since its formation.

Target demographics: Labrador Retrievers and Labrador Retriever mixes from shelters and owner relinquishment.

Direct beneficiaries per year: In 2021, Labrador Rescuers rescued 149 dogs, including 39 senior dogs, and found forever homes for 139 dogs, including 33 senior dogs. Labrador Rescuers also provided loving care in permanent foster homes for 10 Lifeboat Labs-dogs whose medical conditions and/or age made it difficult for them to find adoptive homes.

Geographic areas served: The Counties of San Diego, Orange, Riverside, and portions of the Counties of San Bernardino, Imperial and Los Angeles in Southern California.

Programs: The Three Rs (Rescue, Rehabilitate and Rehome); Second Chances for Senior Dogs; and Lifeboat Labs Hospice Care. Please see Candid/GuideStar profile at https://www. guidestar. org/profile/81-0646390 for more information.
