The way it close, doesn't hurt the dog. Very sturdy, and easy to remove.

Our German Shepherd mix is 70lbs of endless, uncontrolled energy and I have arthritis. Prior to prong collars, I had lost track of how many times he had put me on the ground. The old prong collar was hard to get on/off and I left it on for awhile and it hurt his neck. I've only had one problem with this collar. Once he tried to crawl under a car, caught the collar and it released. Since then, he constantly wears a plastic collar and I add the prong collar to go outside, to the vet, etc. It was a dog trainer that suggested Herm Sprenger.

It slips on and off perfectly and the small details in the design make a big difference in the performance of the collar. If you are going to use a prong collar make sure it's this one.

I was very skeptical about this type of collar. I'm not for anything that would hurt my LabraBull! he is a very sweet dog, just very energetic. He was very hard to control on his leash, before we purchased the Herm Sprenger. Now he is a totally different dog! the best part is that this collar doesn't hurt him at all!!!

The Quick Release is a must. It makes the collar so much easier to put on and take off.

Our dog trainer recommended this collar and showed us how to place it correctly on our dog. She is making great progress in learning to heal and not pull on the collar. I am now able to walk her and we are both enjoying that!

When this tool is introduced fairly to your dog, it is a litteral life saver. I've helped many elderly people or small women train their large dogs on a herm sprenger. This tool gives the user confidence and control they need to handle a strong puller or high prey drive dog.Don't give in to the death over discomfort crowd. Learn to properly use this tool and thank me later. Your dog will too because you will be happier and they will stop choking themselves for miles.

Kane is a 16 month GSD. He would pull so bad it was bruising my hand when I would take him to the park. ONE, I repeat ONE walk with this collar and he hasn't pulled again!!!! We did remove 2-3 links for a better fit

It can get tough to get this on the dog, the quick release clamp can be difficult to manage to get on. The last thing that you need is for you dog to start struggling when you try to get this on.

This German made product is worth every penny. Don't buy the cheap brands. The prongs are rounded and do not break the skin during training. My German Shepherd immediately heeled and my walking was transformed from constant pulling to an enjoyable experience for both of us. Great online videos for use, a quick tug and release communicates the correction instantly.

I have the original Herm Sprenger prong collar and I absolutely love it. I wanted to try out this variation since it has a quick release rather than opening/closing via prongs. I think it's great for someone that doesn't have the dexterity to open the prongs; however, I felt as though it didn't fit the same as the original collar. It always felt somewhat off, no matter how many prongs I removed or added. My dog is between sizes so I usually need to alter the collar, which worked fine with the original. It might be more effective for a dog that fits better.

We have a 17 month old Bernese Mountain Dog. Millie has a mind of her own. I wanted so much to take her for long walks but every walk was a struggle. This collar is a game changer. After only 2 days she is a pleasure. We are finally enjoying each other and our walks together. I highly recommend this collar.
