I have a 22 and I do not have these issues. This 23 the adjustable chain with clap goes back through the stoppage hole and gets stuck. It requires disconnecting the portions and further pinching the dog to remove it.

It's a great product. Takes a bit to get use to but grateful we have it

The slightest bump causes the collar to fail. It is very important if you use this collar to add a backup safety connection to a regular collar or harness. The quick release mechanism opens at the slightest bump.I bought this hoping it would be easier to use since I have dexterity issues with my hands. It's hard enough having to feed the chain through the small hole to connect it to the clip, but then also having to secure with an additional clip made this too difficult for me to handle. I now use a Kimberland collar instead.

Well, one could replace the quick release clip, but Sprenger won't sell just the clip.Seems like a waste to chuck the whole thing just because the spring on the clip is flimsy and fails in a year or two.If you are handy you can fix the clip by breaking out the existing spring, drilling a hole opposite the spring mooring post, inserting a pin in the hole (I tapped the hole and used a 4-40 screw), and taking a length of rubber tubing (I used about an inch of some leftover automotive windshield washer hose) to act as an elastic spring captured by the original mooring post and the fabricated pin. So far it's worked longer than the original for me, but this maneuver is not for the faint hearted since your dog could take off if your fabrication fails. All in all it's a fine product reduced to less than ordinary by the proverbial weak link.

I adopted a grown pitbull who was abused and was terrified of the leash. Was impossible to walk him. This collar changed it. And now my dog is learning to walk with me and gaining more trust in me.

The clasp on this is impossible to open! I've had it for about 6 months now and I can't use it because the clasp is stuck and won't open. Don't recommend

We had this for a year and what a headache we had. I thought it would be easier to remove from my dogs neck but at times when the dog was relaxed the latch would break free from the link and we would have a wandering pup. We finally had to get a new easy off type since he destroyed it.

I wish it was easier to put on but glad you can release it quickly to come off. It works like a charm for my dog.

Easy to put on with the quick release no more pulling. My one complaint is the first time we put it on, she was scratching her neck and I think her leg touched the quick release which prompted her collar to come off. However that's never happened again. Highly recommend.

My son walks our German Shepherd. She is eleven months old and strong as a horse. He said he could hardly believe the dramatic difference between walking her with a regular collar and this pinch collar. Best purchase I've made in a while.

Herm Springer still making the best IMO. The quick release feature is great. So glad I went with this style and I can still add links if needed.

As you can see, it appears I have received a genuine herm sprenger prong. It does in fact have a quick release as well (which by the way is sooo nice) along with the plate in the middle separating the two directions of prongs. In addition, I checked each prong and they are all smooth with no sharp points.I have been using the traditional prong collar on my dog for a few months as she is very much a puller and will pull through every tool I have. I've used her regular collar, the front clip harness (suggested by the vet lol), the slip lead, basically everything except the head halter (which I refuse to use due to how dangerous it is if your dog does pull). The traditional prong I had was too big for her so I couldn't take out enough prongs otherwise it would be too tight. However, with it as loose as it was it wasn't sitting in the proper spot to be effective. It also turned my dogs neck so grey.I've had this prong for about a month now and I am very pleased. I was able to take out enough prongs and now it sits perfectly where I want it to. She rarely tries to pull through it unless there is an aggressive dog trying to get her, it doesn't leave her neck nearly as grey (still a little but almost not noticeable at this point), is much less bulky, and is much easier to get on and off as I only have the collar on her when we go outside.I have been wanting a herm sprenger for awhile and am glad I got the real thing with the quick release.

I tried the knock-off only to return it two days later. I then purchased a Herm Sprenger training collar. First time on, she got the message, no more leash pulling. It's that effective! No need to yank on the collar, just a soft correction will do it for most dogs. I purchased one size larger, as I can always remove links once she grows.Highly recommended!!!
