I initially bought because it is black. I really like that it is Slightly elastic when it attaches to a barb. The clear tubing is more stiff. This tubing will no come off with a gentle tug or rearrangement of pumps.

Sturdy and still has give, good price for the small quantity market (pay a tad more and get 25 feet or better but, honestly, I didn't want that much laying around so this 8 foot bundle was just fine).

Got this for a new air stone I got that had a clear tubing that was SO easy to see against the back of my Fluval Flex 9 gallon tank, it was silly. I figured Black tubing would hide it better, and it looks so much nicer now with a few black suction cups to keep it more flush against the back of the tank. So much easier on the eyes!
