Needed to pressure test the cooling system on a 2013 CBR1000rr for a coolant leak. Between the tight location size of the cap none of my automotive pressure testers would work. Bought this tester with my fingers crossed it would work IT DID. Now, one of the reviews mentioned it would not fit it needed to come with thinner rubber seal/spacers on the adapter that goes onto the radiator itself. I ALMOST thought the same thing, but eventually found it was a just a tight fit and I had to sort of 'walk' the adapter down onto the filler neck. Once it 'popped' down it worked perfectly! All of the leaks I found were 10 year old hoses that had compressed with age and the clamps simply needed tightening, but it was reassuring to be able to test for leaks with both a cold hot engine. My ONLY beef with the tester as a whole was the location of the pressure release valve. It seemed no matter where I laid the tester, with pressure on the system, the release lever would get bumped and let pressure out. Will I need it again? That remains to be seen

I'm a retired motorcycle technician. For many years I used the Industry standard Stant cooling system pressure testers with adapters for motorcycle radiators caps. They were always difficult to get a good seal, the hoses pumps were prone to leakage, the adapters were bulky hard to use on some motorcycles with restricted access. This setup works on almost all Japanese motorcycles, many others. It seals up quickly easily gives a good test. No leakage from the tool. I've used it on 2 different motorcycles so far. Also comes with a manual that shows several ways to use the tool how to interpret the results. It looks cheap, but works great.

I purchased this to check my KTM 200 exc cooling system. I wanted to see if the head gasket was leaking. This tool was perfect for the job. Not a complaint, but more of a thought. This kit does not come with a case, so you have to use the packaging the kit came in. Not ideal. But this is a great toolTo have.

This coolant system pressure test kit is so important. Honda VFR 800 was losing coolant, thinking it was a blown head gasket. Prior to coolant issue, all hoses replaced Water Pump seal checked and replaced radiator cap with NEW OEM cap. Coolant system held pressure, however, NEW radiator cap failed to hold pressure ! Some seal manipulation to the radiator cap permitted the cap to pass the pressure test. Phew, no blown head gasket.

I already use the Mityvac for my brakes so when my son needed to test his Triumph cooling system because it was losing coolant the choice was simple. After a couple of tests he found he needed to replace his radiator cap so the fix was simple.

This fits my 2003 Goldwing GL1800, overall I like it and it works. I did not try the cap test but the cap adapter fits. I only used it to pressure test the cooling system after doing a engine swap. Initially it did not fit my radiator fill neck, it was too tight, so I took a small pair of vise grips and carefully / lightly squeezed in on the metal corners. See Pics, it worked great after that. IF you have to do that to make yours fit right, do it a little at a time and test fit each time before squeezing in too much.

Great for testing my radiator cap. But cap that comes with tool to test your cooling system doesn't fit. It has a fatty round center under the middle of it that my Honda VTX will not accommodate. My system at the neck is not quite deep enough for it. I thought I was getting a whole system checker. Should've made my own with a bicycle pump to hook up at the neck and saved money!
