I was able to line it up on the column without any issue and the pins came out easily. They were in tight, but the process was simple.

took 5 minutes to remove both pivot pins, very simple and easy to do..seen all the negative remarks about this item that it broke trying to remove the pins but they obviously did it wrong..can't go wrong for the price.

Used to pull the pivot pins on a 1988 Olds 98 tilt steering column. Worked exactly as it's suppose to, which was a big relief. Took the advice of another reviewer, and made sure to hold the bolt steady with a 9/64 hex wrench/key. Pulled both pins out and the bolt is still in good condition. Plus it comes with two bolts.

Was concerned after seeing reviews. Thread the little bolt into the pivot pin, hold the bolt steady with an allen wrench, turn the nut, pins withdrew slowly. Made sure not to stress the bolts by turning the nut too quickly. Worked great.

If you plan to remove a pivot pin on a GMC/Chevy this is your tool. I bought this tool to do a steering wheel swap in my Suburban. I was impatient and bought a different one from a local parts store and what and wasted my time, that tool broke instantly. As soon as this tool came in I went back to my local junkyard and BOOM without any hesitation this tool pulled that pivot pin out without a sweat. Highly recommended you get this in your tool box! Worth the price, no headache....

If you are even thinking about working on your tilt steering column this is top of the list. Working on a wrangler yj and replacement columns go for 400-700 bucks. talk about bang for your buck, who ever invented this is my new hero.

This tool is a must to break down for repairs the steering column on cars with a tilt steering wheel. The job can also be accomplished by acquiring a grade 8 bolt and nut, a fender washer and using the nut that secures the steering wheel. But, seriously, for this low price why not just get the tool, do the job right and be done with it. For those who have broken the bolt on this puller, perhaps the reason might be that they did not use a 9/16” hex wrench as stated in the instructions to keep the bolt from turning while wrenching the nut down on the tool. By not holding the bolt steady with the hex wrench, too much torque is applied to the bolt which can often result in breakage. Hope this helps!

If you find yourself needing one of these, my heart goes out to you. Breaking down steering columns is not fun but this worked exactly as expected. Used it on my 84’ C10 tilt column.
