These work great and get into places where a tee handle can't be rotated.

Great for tight spots and easier to use then handles that come with a tap set. Just go ahead and buy it you know you want to

From taps to easyouts they make turning them so much easier and less time consuming than any adjustable wrench

Here's the problem on Japanese vehicles 6mm x 1.0 bolts will strip out on an occasional basis in aluminum threads in frames, blocks, etc. Well, helicoil or similar works well but only if there is access. The problem with tap drivers is they are huge. I guess for leverage but a lot of times if you have to tap on the vehicle things are in the way of the tap driver that comes with kits. And for whatever reason tap makers make the ends of taps of a size that doesn't fit any metric or standard socket. These tap sockets are the answer. I don't use them often but when I need them they really help out a lot. Usually after the part store has closed.

Is there even an alternative? If you do a lot of tapping, these and a cordless ratchet are essential. Tapped thousands of holes with these.

Rubber inserts help hold the taps in place- fits most taps, very useful when tapping on the lathe. MAKE SURE YOU START THE TAP SQUARELY USING A TAP FOLLOWER- THE ADDITIONAL LEVERAGE MAKES IT VERY EASY TO BREAK A TAP IF IT BINDS- BUT MAKES IT VERY EASY TO COMPLETE THE TAPPING OPERATION OTHERWISE- MUCH MUCH EASIER THAN WRESTLING WITH A COMMON TAP HANDLE. I wanted one of these for a long time and resisted, finally had a troublesome 3/8 NC hole in gummy low carbon hot roll steel that convinced me to stop pussy footing around. Glad I did-

First off these can take a beating! I had a broken spark plug stuck in the head. I inserted my straight extractor and installed the proper lisle tap socket onto it. These spark plugs were so seized it was bending my 1/2” drive breaker bar. I was worried I would break something but continued and finally loosened the spark plug. At one point my extension broke but these sockets don't slip or break! The storage rail they come on is mediocre but doesn't matter to me.The retention feature works great. Very snug fit.Definitely recommend to anyone who uses taps or extractors! Its a must have!

If you have ever used a tap and die kit then you know the pain. This is a must have because it'll allow you to use a socket wrench....saving time and aggravation.
