This worked well, except for the fact that the straight end of the wire isn't long enough to seat onto the spark plug in a Subaru cylinder head. (EJ253) I was able to hold it in place and still check the spark condition, and it did let me know that part of the ignition coil was going bad. (Resistance readings confirmed) I just wish the straight end was longer.

Tests for spark, but that's it. No way to tell strength of spark or any way to test length of spark. I like that it comes with the longer boots.

This little tool helps you to immediately test a plug to assure that you have good spark. It eliminates a lot of electrical backtracking to try and sort out what your problem might be.

I used this for a lawnmower to diagnose a no start condition. This works very well when trying to diagnose spark issues. Very well made and worth the price.

I used this tool on a vehicle that eventually had fouled spark plugs.This does indicate when the COIL FIRES, but not necessarily the spark plug - so beware of this as it's going to mess up your troubleshooting.So basically, it's too sensitive, as it might mask a fouled spark plug problem.
