Mission: The Fredericksburg Area Regional Health Council is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation, consisting of volunteer directors, which include health professionals and lay citizens representing a wide range of occupations and interests. The Council's mission is to:1.Identify and assess the obstacles which prevent or diminish the delivery of acceptable health care. 2.Determine alternatives to overcome those barriers. 3.Create mechanisms to address program implementation to assure access to medical attention. 4.Collaborate with public and private agencies to assess the health status of the community in order to improve the health of the citizens of this region.

Target demographics: provide health care services to low-income, uninsured people

Direct beneficiaries per year: 1,835 people.

Geographic areas served: City of Fredericksburg and the Counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania & Stafford, Virginia

Programs: medical care, prescription medications, dental care, and behavioral health services.
