I keep this on my grill outside. When I make a grilled cheese sandwich, I use a Lodge cast iron griddle on the grill. This helps press the sandwich.

This works great for flattening out anything you're trying to cook. I use it with my cast iron frying pan to smash burgers, flatten cheese sandwiches, or keep bacon from curling. It works best if you heat it up in the pan before adding the food, so then you get kind of a double cook thing going on. The stay-cool handle works great, stays cool while the rest of the thing is frying hot. I recommend this.

This grill press is pretreated and completely flat on the bottom side. It's perfect for keeping bacon flat, grilled meats held against the pan, and sandwiches compressed. Being cast iron it should be cleaned by hand exactly as you would any other cast iron product. Excellent product and good price.
