This is definitely a 5-star product, but it does not work well for making classic smash burgers due to the rim on the bottom of the press that makes getting the classic thin burger edges impossible. You'll need a completely flat-bottom press for that (Lodge makes those too!) But...for a classic burger press, this is fantastic. Take a 1/3 pound ball of ground beef, cover with a square of parchment paper and press it into a PERFECT burger! 90 seconds on a hot cast iron griddle, flip and cook for another 60 seconds, and it's ready for a toasted brioche bun, a good portion of Boursin cheese and a heap of grilled onions. Dang, I'm getting hungry just writing this review!
