Lots of Info on the web on how to take care of it The first time seasoning it , My cast iron pan did not come with a lid but it's really nice to have The flavor your food get from the cast iron pans is great Should last a life time.

A buddy got me this as a house warming gift, or an apartment I should say, and I been using it for three years. It has been flawless, and my favorite thing to cook a steak on. No rating yet on how it holds up against home intruders, but I'll update if there is

I wanted a smaller iron skillet and this is perfect for two people. I will say it is a bit heavy but nothing like my 10-12 inch one. Came already seasoned but I still cleaned and put olive oil on it. Best meals made in this. I highly recommend it.

I have an old Griswold cast iron set that belonged to my grandmother. I don't want yo use that set for cooking outdoors so I purchased a Lodge pan and Cuisenel lid.I love the extra (little) handle on the Lodge pan; the little handle makes it easier to carry this somewhat heavy pan.Yes, I seasoned the pan according to instructions on various website. And I leave the pan and lid in the oven for now so every time I turn the oven on, the set gets hot.I have not yet tried thr pan and lid outside. Summer months are immediately ahead so I plan to do so soon!

So I have ALWAYS wanted a cast iron pan. Like a good one. I've gone throug so many... this one I was a bit nervous about but there literly was no reason to be. It works great. I use it almost daily. If you do get this I highly suggest getting a cleaning pad thing as well as a rust be gone thing both from lodge. I oil it up after every use and place it into the oven. It is really heavey but of course that's expected. The silicone handel is nice but I just take mine off. Overall an amazing product!!

This is a great pan for anybody looking for a 10-1/4 skillet. Sometimes 10 inches isn't enough, and thats where this pan really shines--it gives you the extra 1/4 that you need to fit things that wouldn't fit into a 10 pan, but will fit in a 10-1/4 pan. I also own the 12 version of this pan, and you can bet I'm going to be a customer if they release a 12-1/4 pan. I have an engineering degree, so you can trust me when I give the confirmed 10-1/4 dimension of this pan. The only thing I wish lodge would provide, and the reason for one star off, is a metric version of this pan. When I cook European food, a pan measured in inches obviously is not ideal and can cause calculation errors. I would like it if this came in both a 10-1/4 and a 260.35mm option.

The only thing I have trouble dealing with is that the cast iron is hard to clean, but you get that with a cast iron.

Great for browning and then finishing off in oven. Saves another dirty pan. Also it's already heated for even cooking. Steaks, yum!!!

Solid product, sears and bakes as expected, great product. May need to scrub a few minor rust spots here and there until it gets well seasoned, then very little maintenance! Lifelong friend in the kitchen.
