It does not take the place of customized hearing aids but is very helpful until I get the hearing aids. Batteries need to be changed every 5 to 6 days when using most if the day.

At first I was really botherd by scratchy noise, particularly when moving the plug. I replaced the earpiece with a good set of binaaural buds and the noise is gone! BTW, the unit seems to be binaural in function.

This is an amplifier, not a hearing aid. It works very well as an amplifier, producing substantial gain--in other words it can get very LOUD, depending on the setting of the volume control. Having said that, it is noisy (static) but can be of help to the hearing impaired despite that. So I'd say for the money, it's worth a try.

The wired earbud is ok except the wire is too rigid and therefore hard to keep the earbud in place. I now use a loose wired earbud. Can't you smart folks come up with a wireless mic and earbud?

I bought this device for my elderly Aunt. She has severe hearing loss and a conventional hearing aid would be of no use. This device does provide marginal help.

It's cheaper than a hearing aid by hundreds of dollars and it works with 2 only, AAA batteries!

For someone like me, with mild hearing loss, it works fine. There is a little background hiss but that's to be expected with low priced electronics but overall It's worth the money.

It works as to ease of use, and controls of the volume. However, either the ear plug cord is unshielded and picks up waves and electrical interference. And also obviously since the receiver of the microphone and the ear piece can be in proximity there can be problems of feedback. But even if you try to eliminate the feedback by separating the two there still seems to be some kind of phenomenon where some kind of interference and additional sounds are picked up.I can't imagine an in ear hearing aid would be that much better as the pickup and amp is very close together, and even more close together but then they cost 1.5 grand, so maybe they found a way around it.I bought a separate headphones but haven't tried it to see if there is less static and pickup on it.It for sure can have high volume and it works. Whether it works for your situation is worth a try and maybe getting better on ear headphones for it. or even noise cancelling headphones but those are kind of bulky.

It worked according to the wife who is hard of hearing but she doesn't use it much. Guess I have to keep yelling at her.

I have otosclerosis and tinnitus, conditions not easily fixed with hearing aids. But this personal sound amplification device has been a lifesaver, especially in meetings. What's good: Old-school analog device. Turn it on and it's immediately usable. And there's no delay, like you get with laggy digital USB or Bluetooth devices. It's reliable and rugged, and great value-for money. What's not so good: The quality of the single earpiece is not the best for my condition, but substituting with dual-ear headphones solved that. There's no rechargeable battery, so you may need to have a couple of spare AAA batteries. The on/off switch (incorporated into the volume dial) can be inadvertently switched on, say, when pocketing the device, which will reduce battery life.I'd be interested to test some bone-conduction headphones with this.

I ordered this product on the advice of my mother's Primary physician. My mother has had hearing problems for a number of years and was so excited to get the Hearing Assistant so she could finally hear her favorite tv and Church programs. However, the assortment of hearing buds is limited and none of them fit in my mother's ears, thus, this product did not help at all.I just saw that I missed the return window that was June 21, 2020, however, my mother passed away on June 19, 2020, and I have had other things on my plate. If you need proof I can provide you with a copy of my mother's death certificate. Thank you very much for your time and assistance with this matter.
