Mission: Loudoun Hunger Relief is Loudoun County's primary emergency grocery resource. It was founded in 1991 as Loudoun Interfaith Relief. Since 1991, LHR has been the vehicle for distributing over 25 million pounds of food to Loudouners in need. Last year, LHR served an average of 650 families a week in need of food. That's nearly triple the number of families we served each week prior to COVID. Two-thirds of those families had never needed assistance of any kind before. In 2021, LHR helped our community with 2.8 million pounds of food and about 266,000 service encounters. Our staff and volunteers focus on making sufficient, nutritious food available to our neighbors. LHR has expanded service during COVID , serving six days a week, sometimes multiple times per day, in four main locations around the county. In addition, we stock five satellite pantries, and partner with other direct service organizations to provide food to those who need it with the lowest barriers to service possible.

Loudoun Hunger Relief is a 501(c)(3) organization, with an IRS ruling year of 1992, and donations are tax-deductible.
