Causes: Civil Rights, Environment, Minority Rights

Mission: To support communities' use of grassroots action in order to create sustainable neighborhoods free from industrial pollution.

Programs: Community support: our collaboration with residents of st. Rose resulted in a commitment by the state department of environmental quality to out an air monitoring network in st. Rose. We also prevented the release of an additional 119 tons of pollution in the neighborhood.

no new leases: we had several events at the bureau of ocean energy management to emphasize the dangers of drilling, including climate change and exacerbated floods. The public outcry that we organized helped achieve a drilling ban in the arctic and atlantic coasts.

movement building: we were active members of the greenarmy. We also began supporting the community of st. James in their opposition to the bayou bridge pipeline. The goal of this work is to strengthen the movement, as well as to support this specific community.
