Causes: Fairs, Sports

Mission: To act as a catalyst for other non profit organizations by providing funds or services addressing civic, cultural, and educational issues affecting the quality of life throughout greater louisville.

Programs: Building on the strength of our first years, l3c entered this our 5th anniversary year of the louisville dragonboat festival by opening up the event, free of charge, to any and all cancer survivor dragonboat teams from across the united states. At this time over 24 teams are registered for the event which will award championships in no less than 6 divisions. The response as in previous years was very well received, ( usdbf and srdba both indicated this was unprecedented amongst other similar events in the us), and cancer centers here in louisville, ( james brown graham and the norton women's cancer center have expressed interest in getting behind the event next year; budgets having already been set for 2018). In the meantime l3c received the honor to act as the kentucky state representative on the srdba board and sub committees. As in previous years our races have been sanctioned by both us and regional dragonboat associations meaning any member can participate in our event and earn points toward their eligibility to qualify for both the regional and the national club crew championships. With this said l3c remains committed to our bedrock mission to act as a catalyst for local charities in their missions to better the lives of a broad population herein metro/ jefferson county. Plans in fact are leaning toward naming a specific identity ( say crusade for children) as the primary beneficiary with whichever charity chosen to be a full-fledged partner in the registration and "donation" drives. As with our affiliation with usdbf and srdba increasing the support base cant but help to increase that tide which will lift all ships.
