My wife and I have a project to connect Early Hallmark Star Trek ornaments to a current garland with incandescent lights. The original design of the ornaments was meant to plug them into an incandescent socket on a string of lights. The lights available today are not compatible with the ornament connecters. The first problem was finding a string of lights that burned incandescent bulbs at 3volts alternating current. We found a garland at Walmart that met that criteria.I bought these male to female connecters to be able to connect and disconnect the ornaments from the garland. My wife easily connected the male component to the ornament by bending the metal pieces in the socket and removing the plastic casing. She then shrink-wrapped the wire closest to the socket head, bent the wires 90 degrees, and screwed them into the male component.Meanwhile, I worked on the garland lights, which were wound very tight around the garland wire. This turned out to be a slow task to mate the female end to the garland. Once the job was completed, the female attached very nicely to the male component, and the ornament worked well.
