Mission: Mexico Medical Missions exists to proclaim the transforming love of Jesus Christ to the indigenous people of the Sierra Madre Mountains of Northern Mexico through the provision of an excellent level of integrated healthcare

Results: Tens of thousands of Tarahumara provided medical care including treatment of severely malnourished children, plastic surgery for children born with cleft lip and other deformities, pediatric and adult orthopaedic surgeries, general surgery for hernia, gallbladder and other infirmities, eye surgeries for cataracts and strabismus, and hundreds of women attended during their pregnancies and deliveries.

Target demographics: the Tarahumara tribe who are the poorest ethnic group in Mexico

Direct beneficiaries per year: 8,000 consults, hospitalizations, ER visits, surgeries and deliveries

Geographic areas served: the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico

Programs: Operating a full service hospital in a remote, impoverished area of the state of Chihuahua, Mexico serving primarily indigenous persons. The hospital provided outpatient and inpatient care to adult, pediatric, obstetrical and surgical patients. During 2021, the hospital received $100,000 of donated surgical services by two doctors. A community health program in very remote villages involving the administration of 2 village clinics and a mobile program working with several other villages emphasizing education in preventative healthcare and midwifery. An aviation program transporting health teams into remote areas as well as transporting sick or injured patients. United Indian Missions (UIM) provides both a pilot and a larger aircraft for transport into the capital.
