It is exactly what I expected a fairly well-made lightweight wool blend blanket to keep in my car has the normal smell that these blankets have

It's a wool blanket that does what it's meant to and wool is wildly uncomfortable to most. Simple as that. I washed it with some woolite and a bit of softener to get rid of the nasty chemical stench and now I take it on every trip. I've slept wrapped up in it on 10 nights in Upstate NY, huddled under it in deep-forest rainstorms, and used it as a groundsheet for lean-tos. It takes all of the abuse with minimal wear if you remember to wash it occasionally and take care of it. I even keep it on my bed in winter when I'm at home and I can comfortably keep the heat as low as 55 with just a cotton blanket underneath when I'm sleeping. Great value for the price, 100 recommend

The blanket is worth purchasing if you want the advantages of a wool blanket, but also need something budget friendly.Relatively speaking, the blanket is warm, soft, and light weight. The size of the blanket is larger enough to comfortably cover two adults, possibly three.Out of the package the blanket did have the order that is mentioned in most of the other reviews, however, I didn’t think it was too extreme. As soon as I opened the package I removed and unfolded the blanket, took it out in my backyard and put it out on the clothes line for about 10 hours of sunshine and fresh air. After airing out the blanket, I washed it according to the directions on the tag, and then put it in the dryer with a few scented dryer sheets, and that got rid of the “gasoline” oder.The biggest negative with this blanket is that it peels and sheds quite a bit on the first couple of washes. Also, the stitching isn’t the highest quality, but I don’t think it is too much of a concern; I think if you really wanted to you could just reinforce the corners with a quick stitch. Also keep in mind that this blanket is not as thick as the military issued wool blankets.My opinion is that this is The Wool Blanket to use for: Emergencies, Tailgating, Camping, keep in the vehicle for road trips, a blanket for use at the outdoor range, etc. If you want something more luxurious: pay more money amd get a pre washed Wool Blanket.

Great for general use, Warmth, Outdoor activity, but also Protecting items, and Covering large surfaces. Otherwise it's a pretty standard wool blanket.Only thing to note was that there is a bit of a factory smell until you wash it, and then its gone after the first wash.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I got a wool blanket for motorcycling and camping. The first one I got was 70/30 wool nylon emergency blanket and it stunk like chemicals, then it leaked dye and lint like a champ when I washed it like covered everything in the next loadThis OD green military style one is perfect. It's heavier because of more wool, bigger thicker blanket and it has like 10 of the chemical smell. I can't wait to try it out.

It's the perfect weight and over time gets softer. You can use this as a regular blanket it's perhaps not as warm as a comforter but it's very very breathable

A little scratchy, but keeps REALLY warm. I've used it in Northern Maine, during the winter, and it's amazing. I ordered two more.

I bought this for my husband's lift chair. He is a smoker, and I was concerned that he would burn a hole in his chair.

And its green.

I assume the chem smell is from the dying process. Fixed by washing cold w/woolite dark and drying on low 60min 2-3 times, and used scented dryer sheets. Massive amount of wool lint when drying. Had to empty every 20 minutes because lint trap was FULL. Now have a great warm and comfortable wool blanket. Would buy again. Fits over top a full sized bed perfectly.

a warm blanket!

Brought this to cover items I has stored away. This blanket was very heavy, had a odor to it. Had to air it out for over a day before using it.

cheap camping or animal blanket, not too scratchy, good qualilty

i have been using this wool blanket to sew myself a long cloak and it's been a pretty positive experience!(if you're interested, the design I used was made by fleecefun) the blanket is moderately comfortable and considering it is wool, the price is pretty good. one thing is that it smells weird, not necessarily bad though, and it did wash out.

This is a typical rough wool blanket. It comes smelling like an old army blanket. I've washed it a few times, and it creates a massive amount of lint! It has not stopped feeling scratchy, but it's warm. Definitely sandwich it between a sheet and comforter.

I bought 2 of these, one for medieval camping and one to sew into a cloak. The wool does not felt, important to know. They are warm and sturdy and the color is decent. The weave is a bit coarse for sewing into garment but it's suitable for beginner accessories and very cheap compared to wool fabric if you want material for a first try practice project. Could be great outerwear if waterproofed, great picnic/car/outdoor blanket. Due to the coarse weave it does pick up some grass but easy to shake out. A decent purchase, especially compared to the other wool blend blankets I tried.

Great quality does stink of chemical out of the bag but I only needed to wash it once with a whole bunch of fabric softener and the smell was gone.

Almost all new wool blankets have this smell when first opening the package. I was able to machine wash then hang dry outside and the smell diminished after a few days in the open air. Its wool, so its going to be a little itchy. Its also not lightweight because its wool lol. slept outside with it and did just fine.
