Blanket is very warm, large size. I use it for emergency blanket in my car and camping. The first time you wash and dry the blanket it releases alot of fiber so check your dryer vent periodically. Otherwise good blanket for the cost and size.

I didn't fine it warm enough. i washed it in cold water with little detergent in washing machine air dry over 4 chairs instead of flat over night in high desert. yup, it hold the shape still. No problem. No lint. it still smells, but it's okay. Not as soft and less itchy as i like it to be. the more that you wash wool, the softer it gets. i own nothing but real natural wool , cashmere, camel hair, silk,... from around the world. Trash the synthetic. it's best price and i would order again. i do love the olive military green color. great price and good quality enough to dirty it and didn't care.

I was testing out wool blankets, this one I can see through gaps in the blankets weave. I was gifted a more expensive blanket and compared. If your willing to spend more, you can get a much better blanket. This will hopefully do for emergencies. It's a bit itchy for a couch blanket.

I have purchased two of these in the course of a year or two as utility camping blankets. Each one is made in India and looks slightly different from the other and the stitching and weave isn't quality. But given the price and the warmth once folded, it is acceptable.A word of advice, hand wash the blanket in the sink once you get it. It will take a lot of effort and about 30 minutes to soap then rinse then put in the washer on spin for 30 seconds. Do this repeatedly until the dye and excess lint is removed and the water turns clear. At the end of this process, the blanket won't look nappy and smooth felt. The smell also improves.Instead it will appear as a loose wool weave, which is evidence of a non-quality woolen blanket. But that is ok because it is very cheap and a folded blanket can actually be warmer than a quality single wool blanket. This is an acceptable budget blanket that can be used for non-hiking camping or for emergencies.

I would absolutely buy this again, even though I was tough on the review.

The radidators in my apartment run hot and there is no way to adjust the heat (they are either all the way on or off.) I looked up and there was a recommendation to put a wool blanket over the radiators as they are fire-retardent. I have been doing that and it has helped cool my room down a couple degrees. I suggest this for that use and is reasonably priced and looks good also.

I got this wool blanket to keep off the chill of cold nights. It's very soft and light weight, but thinner than other wool blankets I have. Thus, it isn't quite as warm. Better than a cotton throw at keeping in heat, but not as much as heavier wool. Unless you're out in the tundra, this should be sufficient.

Like in the title, this blanket is very soft and light. A lot better than the scratchy issued wool blankets. Definitely something good to have as backup/keep in your car for the winter

This is a great blanket. After it's been washed and had a week to air out.On deliver it has a chemical funk that fills the entire room wich had my wife banish it down the laundry shoot. Definitely worth the money but be prepared when it arrives.

I ordered 6 of these blankets and upon receiving them and opening them from the plastic covering, they had an overwhelming smell of strong 'chemicals'. I have a front-loading washing machine, which is very easy on clothing, and I washed the first blanket on 'gentle' with a full amount of fabric softener. After the full wash, I pulled it out and hung it to dry. (I didn't want to put it in the Clothes Dryer, as I didn't want to 'loose' a lot of the wool volume in the lint catcher.) The washed blanket, upon pulling it out of the washer, smelled fresh and nice.... but after two hours of drying, it still has a little of the chemical smell. I am guessing it might take two washings before the nasty, chemical smell goes away.Other than that, the blankets seem well made and I think I am really going to like them. I am a BIG fan of natural fibers.... loving cotton, down and wool. So I am hoping these blankets make me very, very happy.......

It's exactly what I wanted and generally I love them. BUT! Be sure to wash it by itself! I comes with a chemical/oil smell so I washed them with a couple towels and the green dye bleed onto the towels. Other than that they're great!

Like many reviewers said, there is a strong fuel odor coming from this upon opening the package. However, I’m sure WITHOUT the source of this odor, this wool blanket would not be “fire retardant”which is my sole purpose for buying this. So, it’s a trade off.You could wash this like the directions indicate. But if you’re lazy like me and don’t care about “softness” (and honestly why would u buy this if u care about “softness”), I would suggest airing this blanket outside for about 2 weeks. Hang it on a clothes line. Don’t worry if it rains because it helps. This dries very quickly and the rain will accelerate airing it out. After 2 weeks the odor is still there but it’s minimal. It’s 75 less than what it used to be. Overall it’s great for the price.I also found an added benefit to the odor. It keeps most insects away. Flies, mosquitoes, etc. wanted no part of this while it was hanging outside.

It's a wool blanket that does what it's meant to and wool is wildly uncomfortable to most. Simple as that. I washed it with some woolite and a bit of softener to get rid of the nasty chemical stench and now I take it on every trip. I've slept wrapped up in it on 10 nights in Upstate NY, huddled under it in deep-forest rainstorms, and used it as a groundsheet for lean-tos. It takes all of the abuse with minimal wear if you remember to wash it occasionally and take care of it. I even keep it on my bed in winter when I'm at home and I can comfortably keep the heat as low as 55 with just a cotton blanket underneath when I'm sleeping. Great value for the price, 100 recommend

The blanket is worth purchasing if you want the advantages of a wool blanket, but also need something budget friendly.Relatively speaking, the blanket is warm, soft, and light weight. The size of the blanket is larger enough to comfortably cover two adults, possibly three.Out of the package the blanket did have the order that is mentioned in most of the other reviews, however, I didn’t think it was too extreme. As soon as I opened the package I removed and unfolded the blanket, took it out in my backyard and put it out on the clothes line for about 10 hours of sunshine and fresh air. After airing out the blanket, I washed it according to the directions on the tag, and then put it in the dryer with a few scented dryer sheets, and that got rid of the “gasoline” oder. The biggest negative with this blanket is that it peels and sheds quite a bit on the first couple of washes. Also, the stitching isn’t the highest quality, but I don’t think it is too much of a concern; I think if you really wanted to you could just reinforce the corners with a quick stitch. Also keep in mind that this blanket is not as thick as the military issued wool blankets. My opinion is that this is The Wool Blanket to use for: Emergencies, Tailgating, Camping, keep in the vehicle for road trips, a blanket for use at the outdoor range, etc. If you want something more luxurious: pay more money amd get a pre washed Wool Blanket.
