You need to know your engine temperature, the audio alarm is good but not a substitute. Not bad to keep track of engine oil pressure either. Engine hours required from proper maintenance. Provides all this info and much more. Easy to install on the engine and and phone.

Super easy, mindless to install. Verify engine hours, see faults, temps, basically everything your curious in reference to your outboard. Plug and play harness. Very happy with this easy addition. I accurately monitor my fuel flow, RPMs with fuel consumption while out on the water. worth every penny.

Repowered my 26 year old analog boat with a new 115hp efi 4 stroke and really liked the idea of bringing engine digital data to the helm to complement the limited analog gauge set (fuel/tilt/tach/speed). Been using this since Day 0/beginning the break-in process and it's been very helpful in tracking hours and fuel usage while providing assuring data on oil pressure/water temperature/system voltage/etc at a glance. Very pleased with this unit.

Although the product works very well I rated it the way I did because of Mercury's customer service. It is horrendous. I purchased a new phone and forgot the password that I used. Tried to use the forgot password link. By the time the link was sent to my email it was expired. Tried it over half a dozen times with the same result. Emailed Mercury six or seven times and called them a couple of times and it ended with absolutely no help whatsoever. Just found it hard to believe that a major corporation could be so dense. But I guess that's the world we live in today. Give me your money and go away. I would never buy another outboard with Mercury due to the fear that if something more were to happen I no now that I would get zero customer service.

The only thing I did not like about the product isthe fact that I felt it should have been put on my brand new Mercury Pro XS 115hp straight from the manufacturer. Especially since the Tracker boat I bought did not have an hour meter on it. But all in all this is an Excellant product!

This device is plug-and-play. You'll have it operational in about 30 minutes, even if you take your time finding an installation video, etc. However... it took me another 60-90 minutes to figure out how to mount it. Mercury is kind enough to provide some zip ties, but in my 75hp 4-stroke, there's no place inside the cowling that's really designed to mount this. Plan to scratch your head for a while, contemplating a variety of imperfect mounting options, until selecting one and calling it good enough. Once installed, it works great.

I was going to buy a boat that the seller said had 250 -300 hours on the motor, but I was suspicious, so I bought this. When I went back for inspection, the first thing I did was put this on the motor, and within a minute I saw that the motor had almost 500 hours. I did not want a motor with that many hours, so this 200 bucks saved me from making a 21,000.00 mistake. I bought another similar baot and verified what the seller said, it had 77 hours. I installed it on motor and use it every time I go out, love all the data it gives me. I highly recommend.

Works great and as described. Boats do not come with terminator plug so you might as well order one with VesselView or it will not connect to phone. Do love it when it's up and running, mainly to give off trouble codes.

This is easy to install and configure. I like the mobile app and the information it provides. I made the mistake of installing the wrong terminator cap so it initially couldn't display engine data. Be sure to use the one with the visible resistors connecting two pairs of pins. The directions imply this, so I can only fault myself. And after spending a few minutes with a Mercury service tech I figured out my mistake. It's interesting that Mercury authorized service techs don't really provide support for this product. So while I like it, I found out I was pretty much on my own when it came to installation and troubleshooting. I would think Mercury would someday make this a standard feature on all new engines (and provide service), but that's not the case now. It's a nice product, and better than installing separate gauges, like hour meters.

I was on the fence about investing in something like this as I was expecting it to be a tad gimmicky. Absolutely wrong as it's a fantastic app that can do a host of things from babysitting your motor to marking spots , adding pics , giving fuel mileage and gas left in tank. It even has a checklist before you leave ! ..I took off one star for two things ..one the Bluetooth is a great idea but it will occasionally drop the link I am assuming the cowl blocks a bit and the second is the price. As much important information that this app provides it should be at a reasonable price and installed a new engines as a standard offering. If your on the fence grab it ..the info as fantastic

Have to have one. Shows fault code, engine hours, water temperature and more. I bought one to carry around when I go used boat shopping. Don't leave the dock without one!

I am torn on this on as I think it is nice to have but not worth $200 plus dollars. It does everything it says it does just I think it shouldn't cost more than a $100

Update to this review. Changing my review to 5 stars! After moving the module from the front bottom of the motor to the front top, it didn't disconnect one time yesterday. I'm very happy that it was an easy fix and it is now working properly.I love all the info and features that this gives you, when it works. It disconnects from bluetooth ALL THE TIME!!!!! I was out yesterday on my boat for 1.5 hours and it must of disconnected at least 25 times. I've only had this unit installed and began using it since June 2021 and it has always disconnected sporadically. As last season went along, it seemed to get worse. Now, just as this season is starting it's back to the same disconnecting issues. This is very frustrating and I feel like I wasted $200!
