It doesn't give a bright light, it is dim. I have one years ago or should I say several of them for work and they were perfect.

We live on acerage and I like to know I can beat someone or something to death with my flashlight. It's old school and not bright as an LED but the man stopping power outweighs having a LED Light.

I have used these for years and have always had good success using them. I recently bought two of these for my girlfriend and a friend of mine for an upcoming camping trip. I've got one that is 20 plus years old and still works like a champ! What is good about these is that they are easily upgraded to LED and they are repairable when they do experience an issue. There is plenty of support from Maglite and how to videos on YouTube to repair these, so don't throw your flashlight that the batteries leaked in or are stuck in! There is plenty of ways to repair the flashlight! So yeah it's not comparable to a modern flashlight, but you're going to get a light that will last for years and unlike some manufacturers, make a light that can be repaired.

I own several Brinkman flashlights and they are very reliable so I purchased 2 for security. With the weight of 5 D cells they can serve 2 purposes quite well.

Maglight sets the bar for top quality flashlights. The only thing that could improve it would be an LED instead of incandescent lamp. Highly recommended.

Has a nice wide beam and good at night for walking my dog. Have capote s in the area and the flashlight is a good weight for safety. Like the color red over black for a change.

I use my flashlight when I walk my little dog at night. Being able to widen the beam makes it easier to keep her in sight. Also makes me comfortable knowing I have a personal protection device (uses 3 D batteries) just in case

I bought this to walk my dog in early morning and evening hours. Very bright to light the way while giving drivers plenty of notice where you are. Because of its sturdiness, could use to protect yourself from coyotes
