I love the color, but I thought mags were brighter. Just keep in mind that it's not an LED light.

I have fond memories of my dad's 6 cell Maglite. And Maglites are what I used in my first firefighting job in the late 80's. So I enjoy using Maglites as hosts for other lighting components. This flashlight is well made with good attention to detail. Except that the switch is noisy and doesn't feel the same as the switches on my other Maglites. Time will tell.Be aware that this flashlight is only rated at 27 lumens. The light is direct drive and the light output will diminish over the runtime of the light. At the rated runtime, the light output will only be 2.7 lumens per the ANSI FL1 Standard. The beam distance refers to the distance that the light can illuminate an object to the equivalent brightness of a full moon on a clear night.I am using this light with a drop in LED and reflector that provides 300 lumens for over 2 hours and a beam without all of the artifacts of the original Maglite beam.Be careful about Alkaline Batteries! They do leak. I replace them at least twice a year when I move the clock forward or back to adjust for daylight savings time.

I use it when I take the dogs out at night. We have coyotes that come around so it is good to spot them when they are at a distance.

It's A MagLite!! The quality is typical MagLite - fantastic. Got a special color for the flashlight we use when walking the dog at night and playing chase the light game, this way we can always tell when we grab one of the flashlights, the dogs is usually almost dead, don't take the blue one unless we're with the dog. I've owned several MagLites, they're always borrowed never broken or worn out when the time comes to replace one. Just very, very high quality that lasts, one of my very first 3-cell MagLites is still going at 24 years, only requiring batteries and bulbs! Built to last.

Nothing bad to say about it really, except that the button popped off a few hours after opening it we’re not sure when/where/why it randomly fell off. We can still turn it on off just fine it works perfectly so whatever lol

Quick delivery. Solid, heavy construction as expected. Not as bright as expected. Easy installation of 2 D cell batteries.

Problem with Maglite torches is they have sat on their laurels for too many years and not kept up to date with technology. The quality is great and these torches do last a lifetime, I have a 6 cell that I've had for 26 years or so and is still in perfect working condition. If only they had an LED instead of the bulb they would be so much better, they would be brighter and the batteries last so much longer.Easy to say buy the LED version but it costs a small fortune whereas you can just buy the standard one and get a multi-mode LED for a few pounds extra turning it into the torch it should have always been.Cost seems to have gone up considerably, more than doubled since I bought my 6 cell which is odd as the design is exactly the same so no further development costs. So Mag, stick an LED in it and sell it for $30 (the 2 cell) and you will be back on a winner but the present price of $40-$50 is way too high.

I expected this gigantic flashlight to be brighter. It hardly shines my back fence which is only about 15 yards away. It's very heavy so not for everyday, easy use. Would not buy again.
