An old mercury 'type' thermometer in a metal casing like people have used in aquariums forever! Just be careful not to bump the glass thermometer bulb on the bottom, it breaks pretty easily. The edges of the metal can harm delicate fish so place it out of the way. This type of thermometer IS more accurate than most of the small digital types. A good deal.

Worked fine while they lasted but both I ordered broke out of no where and started displaying wrong temperatures. Waste of money.

Metal hanger does not fit larger tanks due to the frame being too wide. If your buying for a smaller aquarium, like a 45 gallon or less, it should fit, and it's a accurate easy to read thermometer.
