The Dohm helps me sleep. I only wish there was more range of adjustment to the sound.

I bought my first Marpac forty some years ago when I was working the graveyard shift. In the subsequent years, I escaped those bad hours but found white noise was still helpful. I experimented with various electronic devices that simulated the white noise, or falling rain, babbling brooks, etc. They were never as good, and I switched back to a new Marpac. It's still the best. When I was hospitalized, I brought it along to both feel at home and to cover up the noise of machines and nurses in the hallway.

I love the sound! I run mine 24/7! It is the perfect white noise machine that help's me destress after a long day. Plenty loud, but also not obnoxious. I can ignore the sound when I am not thinking about it... but it is there for me when I feel like concentrating on it to help me relax, and it does. It helps me fall asleep soundly and i sleep better through the night. Couldn't be better!

This thing is awesome. Packable, long cord, great range of sounds that it can produce. I run it on the near lowest possible setting and it's more than adequate.

I'm a very light sleeper. This device really helps to go to sleep and stay a sleep. I've had 2 of them for 7 years, and<br />have had no issues. Very well made.

I can't sleep without my Marpac anymore, I love it so much. Perfect amount of white noise to drown out loud neighbors and city traffic. Just don't bring it abroad, I fried one by plugging it into a socket in Paris. Buy the international travel version for portability.

Great product! I've always used a fan to sleep. Too cold for a fan during the winter and this helped break the fan habit. It's small enough to take on vacation with me so I can sleep away from home.

I've only had this for a couple of weeks now but oh my gosh I am sleeping SO much better! It's a total game changer for me! I have 2 cats that typically sleep in my room with me and sometimes they're up and down all night long and their little noises they make getting in and out of bed used to always wake me up. Not anymore! I'm sleeping like a log! Not only am I sleeping so much better but I'm convinced that my cats are sleeping better as well. I am SO thankful I found this product.

This was my favorite purchase of the year. I’m able to have the noise of a fan while I sleep without the coolness of a fan in the winter. I never want to sleep without it!

Definitely the best sound machine especially if you are wanting more of a fan sound vs annoying white noise/computerised sound. I had this in my toddlers bedroom and needed a new one in my room and decided to try a few others and just didn't like them. Went ahead and ordered a 2nd one of these!

This made such a big difference in a loud apartment I lived in for a while. It really does a great job of blocking out consistent sounds like traffic (though it doesn't do a lot for sudden sounds like car horns and sirens). (I lived on a really busy street and it suuuucked.) (But this really helped).

Terrific. We returned another less expensive brand due to poor sound quality, bought the Marpac Dohm and really like it. Easy to use, excellent quality

Posting this review after 8 years of faithful service from this little white noise maker. We have two so even if one of us is traveling, we'll both be able to fall asleep to the same sound. Smartphone apps with digital sound don't compare to this little mechanical gem. The manufacturer is also good with serving the units. I had one sketchy hotel that shorted out my beloved "Whooshie" with a power surge while I was traveling and the company was fast to repair and get him back to me. Highly recommended!!

I live in an apartment complex and I have an incredibly loud neighbor (read: I can hear her phone conversations through the wall. She was recently going through a breakup and I heard e v e r y t h i n g). I also have a radiator that clangs all night long. I put the dohm on the floor by my bed and I am sleeping through the night again. I no longer hear my neighbor's shrill voice lamenting about how her boyfriend started dating someone only two months after their split. It produces soft, fan-like noise that I like having in the background during the day, too.

It has a number of ways to adjust the pitch and intensity of the white noise but we don't use that functionality much. It's not quite as loud as I'd hoped but seems to help with the baby's sleep

I bought one of these 12 years ago, and another 4 years ago. The first one has produced a clean white noise that’s helped me sleep every night for 12 years. Only recently I noticed a slight off and on humming sound that tells me the motor is wearing down. I went to grab the one we bought for my son’s room (purchased 4 years ago) and realized this newer one sounded far worse! The fan makes an obnoxious rattling sound when it runs. The casing also just feels cheaper. It makes me sad when a company compromises the quality of a good product in the name of cutting costs. I am replacing our Marpac with a LectroFan digital non-looping sound machine now, because at least I don’t have to worry about the motor wearing out on a digital machine.

I use this to mask the noise of our pet hamster running on his wheel at night. An additional advantage is that I no longer wake up to the refrigerator, AC, or heater turning on and off. My brother bought one for my niece after listening to it's neutral fan sound.
