It's too bulky for travel and all it does is produce a fan sound. For its size I thought it might also be purifying the air. You're better off using your smart phone which will give you a better selection of sounds and volume.

I initially bought one when my first kid was born. I had it in my room where she slept. I now can't sleep without it. It blocks out background noise and is not an annoying sound. Knocks me right out.

I sleep with a fan and have been recently traveling a lot and needed something that could fit in a carry on.This works great.1. Small enough to fit in carry on without taking up a lot of space.2. Sounds like a fan3. Can adjust the volume and pitch of the sound4. Able to sleep through the night using this product

I bought this to place outside my office door for privacy. It works exactly as advertised and essentially has 2 volume levels that you can adjust slightly. It is perfectly suited for my application. The sound is also a lot more tolerable than some of the digital options.

I use this for a white noise machine for sleeping. It works as expected and has been used for over a year. Solid design and meets all expectations.

Several employees already have this same type of unit in their offices to provide white noise due to our offices not being very sound proof. Having this machine running in their offices provides a soothing background noise which helps to drown conversations seeping through the walls from other offices/conference rooms.

I've been using these Marpac/Dohm white noise machines for over a decade and I don't know how I could ever go without them. I take them whenever I travel too. They provide a soothing sound (adjustable for tone and volume) and cover up most sounds in the house or coming from outside (dogs, car doors closing, etc.). I've used other brands of mechanical white noise machines and these are the way to go. Also, get the dual speed model rather than the single speed. There are times when you will want the higher volume.

I need to have this to sleep. I bought one from somewhere else years ago and when it finally died, I needed one pronto! Took 2 days to arrive and I was back to sleeping like a baby. Solid sound. No up and down volume change or stupid birds chirping. White noise at its finest!

Recently came across one of these while traveling. The bed-and-breakfast that we stayed in had one, and I got the best sleep of ages. So I got it. I love it. The only downside I can imagine is, how will I sleep without it unless I bring it.
