been using these for years - great for sound conditioning.

This is a fabulous product that protects my sleep. It covers up many outside sounds, such as barking dogs and cars. It even covers over chirping birds if you adjust the frequency and volume. I prefer the unmodulated sound setting, not the ocean waves. My only complaint is the adapters they provided with the unit. It was extremely frustrating to try to figure out how to remove the protective covers. Even a savvy friend of mine could not figure it out, which made me feel a little better (that it wasn???t just me!). It would have been helpful to have on a recent overseas trip. Nevertheless, this product gets 5 stars. Great product and great company. You could always buy an adapter somewhere else, as I did (assuming you can't figure it out either!). Or perhaps someone as Marpac is listening and they will provide adapters with no covers in the future. If you have trouble sleeping, try this product and see if it helps! It has done wonders for me, especially when I travel. It is compact and lightweight. I wouldn???t leave home without it!

I've been using this brand since the late 90's and they are THE BEST! They last for years and I rarely ever shut mine off! Since 1996, I've owned 3 machines. One for me, then one for my 34;baby34; room back in the day.....only one of them broke! So I recently ordered another. And when I say broke, it just got glitchy...it was technically still running. So plan keep this product for years....it's likely not gonna disappoint.

The sound on this iteration of the Marpac Sound Conditioner is excellent- I use 34;Waterfall34; at the deepest sound. It blocks out sound even at airport hotels! The biggest problem for me with these has been the cords they fail all of the time! and then I have to buy a new set. They need to improve the connection where the cord meets the adapter box for the plug. I have a drawer of Marpac machines that never quit but the cords keep malfunctioning at the adapter end where they have the rubberized connector. So the machine is great! The sound is great! We'll see how the cord lasts.

Works great.....this was just the right item for us as we both cannot sleep if it is too quiet. We are taking it on our vacation.

The brand name is different, but this is identical to the 20 year machine that died. Very happy.

Just the right amount of white noise without being annoying

I am a very light sleeper. We took this to the Netherlands and Belgium and it worked well. So glad I bought it. I have a different one at home. I prefer this one.

Great little machine.

This is our third Sound Conditioner. We have loved the other two. Out of the box, this one has a horrible smell. Hoping it is just off-gassing the chemicals in the electronics but I don't know. For now, it has to be a dozen feet away from us which is unfortunate.

When I sleep I can hear every sound if it is to quite.This works great to keep a continues sound where I can sleep.

Really works. Let's me sleep through rampant snoring and noises in outside my room when traveling.

Just returned from our European trip. We could sleep perfectly thanks to this Marpac. It was small, light weight and made all the difference in the world in the noisy hotels we stayed at. Perfect!

Comes with adapters for int'l travel. Good white noise machine for its compact size. Editing my review and taking one star off because machine has started to crackle a bit, which I've had to disguise by blending in a bit of hissing water (rain) sound.

Sleep everynight with this sound machine. I only use the steady sound mode (not wave). Best way to describe the sound is like an air conditioner. Fairly small and quite portable so I now bring it with me when I travel; helps drown out noises at hotels.

Just tried this out for 1 week vacation. Very pleased with white noise and portability. A bit expensive but if it lasts well worth the price. Also liked all the plugs for foreign travel.

Officially, this is my second one I have purchased because I gave one to a VERY grateful friend. I would never consider traveling without this, and have brought it all over Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Provides a stable sound environment no matter what hotel you are sleeping in. Essential for heavy duty travelers who are light sleepers...
