Mission: The Martin-Pitt Partnership for Children, a non-profit in Eastern North Carolina, funds programs in quality early child care and learning, assistance finding child care services, parent and family support, health care, child care provider training, and early literacy during the first 2,000 days of a child’s life.
Target demographics: ensure that every child in our community arrives for kindergarten ready for a life of success
Direct beneficiaries per year: 96 child care facilities; 2,898 children in child care settings; 628 early childhood education staff members; nearly 4,000 community members through community events
Geographic areas served: Martin and Pitt counties in eastern North Carolina
Programs: Raising A Reader; Parents As Teachers; Nurse-Family Partnership; early literacy initiatives; a lending library of resources and materials for parents, child care providers, and early childhood education students; Technical Assistance to child care providers including assistance with DCDEE star rated licensing applications and environment rating scales, resources on child care rules and regulations, room arrangement, professional development, positive guidance techniques, curriculums and foundations; training and professional development for early childhood providers.
