Mission: Our mission is to train and coach people facing career and life transitions to overcome barriers, restore self-belief, and acquire the skills and tools needed to secure employment on a path to living wage.

Results: Since 1973, Maryland New Directions has served nearly 140,000 individuals looking to become self-sustaining through employment. Maryland New Directions (MND) is a 45-year-old award winning non-profit organization offering no-cost employment coaching and specialized career training programs for Baltimore area residents, ages 18-60 years of age. MND works with over 350 motivated job-seekers annually, most of whom face significant obstacles in finding a job or establishing a new career. Our holistic approach and valuable employer partnerships create opportunity for long-term careers and remarkable outcomes that include industry recognized credentials, a livable wage, and an impressive employment retention rate of 82.5% (1 yr) for our graduates. When a person successfully completes Maryland New Directions’ program they are empowered to obtain and retain employment; it’s not just good for the individual and their family, but for the whole community.
