Time will tell for sturdiness. Should come with a lick thin enough to go through the lock hole.

This was just what we needed. We live in Minnesota and our furnace has a little light switch on the side that turns it on and off. twice in a year the kids managed to bump it and turn it off in the middle of the winter when it was below zero outside. It was super easy to install, just 2 screws that were already there holding the cover plate on, and now, it can't be turned off by accident anymore!

The cover keeps coming off when I need to turn on the switch. I have it to cover a toggle switch that turns on my garbage disposal. My dog accidentally turned it on jumping up near it. It is a little difficult to lift the cover and then it comes off but not too bad to put back on. Better than having the pup start the disposal with my hand in there to retrieve something. I have no desire to be called Lefty for the rest of my life.
