If you are a fan of watery, flavorless maple syrup, look elsewhere. This stuff is great! It's a dark amber, but not burnt. It has a caramel-like flavor, which is perfect on pancakes, waffles, French toast, etc. The maple taste shines through, and was obviously crafted by a professional. It takes more time to distill/evaporate maple sap to achieve this flavor, but it's definitely worth it. (In years past, we've made our own, but are too old to go slogging through the grove tapping and tending the buckets.) The stuff we made was great, but this is on par with our best efforts - - - in a good year. Well worth the price IMHO.
