Not quite the quality I would expect from Melissa Doug. I would think that it would be common sense to put a lid on this set... even a cheap plastic lid....something! Just paper bills and plastic coins in a cheap wooden box. Does not make for easy storage as indicated in the description. Disappointed overall

This is our favorite play money set. My kids love playing store for math and this is such a great tool for that.

Large bills and coins. I use this with my 3rd grader when doing math problems. The only draw back is that there is not a top cover, so you have to store it carefully.

This play money is excellent for my kids to learn while having fun. The miney is the size of real money. The only bad thing is that the wooden container that it comes in doesn't have a lid to protect the money from falling all over the place which is hard to avoid.

I bought these for my kids' piggy banks. I am a credit card person and do not have many coins hanging around. So instead of real coins I give them these coins as a reward or something and they put these into their piggy banks. Then when we open the bank, I purchase them with their actual values so that it is a convenient replacement of real coins. They are not heavy or dirty as the real ones which are also pluses. The only problem is that the biggest coin does not fit into the piggy bank's top hole. But it may possibly be due proper representation of the actual thing so I can not blame the company for that. So far kids like it and I do too...

I bought this for my 3-year old daughter, who has recently begun pretending to buy groceries. We were using real dollar bills to let her 34;pay34; for the items she put in her basket. My only complaints are that I wish the bills and coins were closer to actual size, and as many others have said: I wish this box came with a lid, cover, or some other way to keep everything from falling out. Otherwise, this is a great product.

We have learned over the years that you can never go wrong with 34;Melissa and Doug34;. This product is no exception. It's the perfect set to pay store with my 3 y/o and good practice with money for my 3rd grader.
