These number puzzles have been such a great busy bag-type activity for both my three-year-old and my five-year-old. They love counting the items and finding the right number and then putting each puzzle in order from least to greatest. My five-year-old has begun recognizing sets (1-6 and 9) easily since really playing with these puzzles. The fact that they are wood also means they are incredibly durable which is great since I have a one-year-old and two-year-old as well! There really isn't anything negative that I can say about these except maybe that the tray they come in has no lid to it so it was getting spilled a lot by the younger two kiddos. That was easily solved, though by a trip to the dollar store for a plastic case with a securely fitting lid. I would recommend these puzzles to anybody with younger kids learning not only to count (with one-to-one correspondence) but also with kids learning to recognize their numbers. It goes up to 20 so anyone up to 4 years old can really get the most out of it. Again, my five-year-old is getting something out of it too but she is a little past this point in her learning.
